About the position

The Employee Wellness Specialist at Savannah River Nuclear Solutions (SRNS) plays a crucial role in developing and implementing wellness programs that promote a holistic approach to health among employees. This position is responsible for creating awareness and motivation, providing tools, and facilitating educational campaigns that encourage healthy lifestyle choices. The specialist will engage in behavior change programming, conduct health assessments and screenings, and organize various health and wellness events. The role requires active participation in wellness meetings and collaboration with all levels of the organization to align the office's mission and goals with the strategic wellness plan. In addition to coordinating employee wellness programs that encompass all pillars of wellness—physical, emotional/mental, social, financial, occupational/professional development, environmental, community, and cultural—the specialist will oversee wellness fairs, screenings, and workshops. They will ensure that wellness rooms across the complex are well-maintained and operational, conduct surveys to assess employee needs and interests, and develop creative strategies to increase participation in wellness initiatives. The specialist will also attend community events to network and build partnerships with key stakeholders, maintain the wellness program's website content, and keep accurate records of all wellness programs and participation. The role includes monitoring the effectiveness of wellness programs, providing case management for employees on disability, and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards regarding employee information confidentiality. The Employee Wellness Specialist will also support the broader human resources functions, providing administrative support in areas such as benefits, compensation, staffing, and employee relations, while ensuring consistency in HR policies and practices across the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure confidentiality of employee information in compliance with HIPAA standards.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent State Credential required.
  • Bachelor's degree in wellness, business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong personal computer skills, including word processing, database management, and spreadsheet functions.
  • Under 1 year of experience in a related field is acceptable.
  • L Clearance or Q Clearance may be required.
