Deer Valley Resort is seeking a Human Resources Specialist for the Winter 2024 season. This seasonal, full-time position is based in Park City, Utah, and offers a pay rate of $21 per hour. The primary purpose of this role is to support the implementation of impactful people programs and initiatives that foster a culture where employees feel valued, motivated, and committed to the success of Deer Valley. The Staff Engagement Coordinator will focus on coordinating staff events, recognition and rewards programs, and communications during the winter season. This position will also serve as a backup to the Staff Engagement Manager. The Staff Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining confidentiality while handling staff relations issues, including inquiries, documentation, mediation, and conflict resolution. The role requires responding to both routine and non-routine staff relations inquiries and escalating complaints that require investigation to the appropriate HR personnel. The Coordinator will maintain detailed records of all staff issues and develop documentation in response to employment-related issues. Additionally, the Coordinator will conduct exit interviews to identify reasons for voluntary terminations and support staff compliance with Deer Valley policies and state and federal employment laws. In terms of staff engagement, the Coordinator will monitor and review staff suggestions and comments, forwarding them to the appropriate resort representatives. They will also coordinate staff functions and assist with budget-related items for events and rewards. Administrative tasks include managing inventory of promotional items for staff rewards and assisting with various HR functions as assigned. Flexibility to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays is essential, as is the ability to perform various projects as needed.
