About the position

The Human Resources (HR) Specialist plays a vital role in supporting the operations of the Human Resources office at Ivy Tech Community College. This position provides administrative support to senior HR staff, advises employees on HR policies, and coordinates various HR processes including recruitment and onboarding. The HR Specialist is expected to maintain knowledge of current HR trends and best practices to effectively assist employees and enhance HR services.

Responsibilities

• Provide administrative support to the Assistant Director, Director, and Vice Chancellor HR.
• Respond to employee inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and HR services while maintaining confidentiality.
• Manage data collection, maintenance, storage, and retrieval of recruitment and talent acquisition documentation.
• Coordinate employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientations.
• Demonstrate professionalism and quality customer service in all HR interactions.

Requirements

• Minimum Associate degree in a related field required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of full-time experience in human resources or a related field.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with HRIS systems and data audits.
• Knowledge of FERPA and other regulatory requirements.

Benefits

• Competitive hourly compensation ranging from $19.50 to $22.00 per hour.
