About the position

The Human Resources Specialist will focus on the design, implementation, and evaluation of the company's compensation and classification plan. This role involves collaborating with employees at various levels to provide strategic solutions related to compensation practices, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and evaluate the company's compensation and classification plan.
  • Collect and analyze data from market-based compensation surveys and comparable public agencies.
  • Review, analyze and research position descriptions to determine and approve proper allocation, as needed.
  • Collaborate with employees at various levels and provide strategic, proactive solutions related to classification and compensation practices.
  • Participate in salary surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and analyze internal pay relationships.
  • Develop and implement classification and compensation related policies for civil service, union and appointed employee groups.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable, local, state and federal laws and regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Six years of experience in human resources or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Certified Compensation Professional highly desired.
