About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Sauk County Health Care Center plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive human resources and payroll processing support. This position is focused on recruitment, employee orientation, payroll verification, and maintaining personnel records, all aimed at enhancing the workforce and supporting the community's health care needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform recruitment related tasks in coordination with the Human Resources Specialist.
  • Review applications, hire, and conduct orientation for new employees.
  • Develop a recruitment strategy to attract the best candidates for open positions.
  • Attend and participate in college job fairs and recruiting sessions.
  • Compile and review employee wage, benefit, and withholding tax information for accuracy.
  • Set up and maintain employee access to facility programs.
  • Verify payroll time entered by departments and balance payroll deductions.
  • Complete payroll-based journal submissions to CMS.
  • Orient new personnel regarding benefits enrollment and payroll procedures.
  • Prepare information and notify employees about health and life insurance coverage.
  • Maintain employee personnel files and compliance documentation.
  • Assist in entering compensation and personal data for new hires and changes.
  • Create monthly newsletters and participate in the Sunshine Club.
  • Oversee staff licensures, performance appraisals, and background checks.
  • Advise and enroll employees for benefits options and assist with documentation.
  • Assist employees with workers compensation documentation and claims.
  • Maintain medical records and perform PBJ record keeping and reports.
  • Assist department heads and employees with policy interpretation and documentation.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • 3 - 5 years of related work experience.
  • Valid Wisconsin State Motor Vehicle Operator's License.
