About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Bandera Electric Cooperative is responsible for implementing and administering HR programs, policies, and initiatives that support the organization's employees and align with its mission and values. This role involves a variety of HR functions including recruiting, staffing, employee relations, and compliance with labor laws.

Responsibilities

  • Provide human resources services including recruiting and staffing.
  • Administer compensation and benefits programs.
  • Facilitate training and development initiatives.
  • Manage employee relations and retiree relations programs.
  • Complete personnel transactions and maintain associated records.
  • Support the revision and implementation of corporate policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations.
  • Perform other duties in support of Corporate Services and the Cooperative.

Requirements

  • High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management, Business, or related field preferred.
  • 1-5 years of similar Human Resources experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of human resources principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License.

Nice-to-haves

  • SHRM-CP and/or PHR certification preferred.
  • Cooperative experience is a plus.
