About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Commonwealth Catholic Charities (CCC) is responsible for a variety of human resource functions, including benefits administration, onboarding, recruitment, compliance, and managing Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) processes. This role supports the HR team in delivering effective HR services across all agency locations, ensuring adherence to policies and procedures while fostering a supportive work environment for employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, communicate, and interpret personnel policies and procedures to employees.
• Conduct orientation and administrative training; monitor onboarding progress and write advertisements.
• Verify completion of all pre-employment, volunteer, and intern screenings, including application and background checks.
• Perform benefits administration, including claims resolution and change reporting.
• Enter benefit deductions into the payroll system and complete data entry into the HRIS.
• Administer annual staff satisfaction surveys and communicate results to staff.
• Ensure personnel files are completed accurately and maintained according to compliance regulations.
• Ensure compliance with the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
• Represent the agency in the community and workplace in a professional manner.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree preferred with four years of related experience.
• Experience in benefits administration and human resources functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
