About the position

The Human Resources Specialist is responsible for recruiting, interviewing, and screening job candidates, as well as managing various human resources functions. This role involves collaborating with management to identify personnel needs, developing job descriptions, and overseeing the recruitment process. The specialist also handles employee data management, 401k processing, and ensures compliance with HR policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, research, interview, screen, and refer job candidates for job openings.
  • Assist employees with personnel information and interpretation of personnel policies and procedures.
  • Confer with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills to develop job announcements and descriptions.
  • Drive recruitment efforts through internal and external job postings, advertising job openings, attending job fairs, and developing networks to locate talent.
  • Review, screen, and distribute applications to appropriate department heads.
  • Respond to inquiries regarding job opportunities, the hiring process, or other staffing matters.
  • Arrange travel and lodging for out-of-town candidates.
  • File and maintain employment records and perform year-end employment file purging.
  • Create new employee folders and ensure new hire paperwork is completed.
  • Input all employee data into HRIS system including new hires, terminations, and status changes.
  • Process employee contributions for 401k and manage the entire 401k process.
  • Process employment verifications and monthly employment reporting to HR Director and MIS.
  • Create weekly reports for the Human Resources Director.
  • Ensure smooth execution of personal action forms for the enterprise.
  • Oversee pre-employment and random drug screens for all employees.
  • Distribute monthly birthday cards to employees.
  • Ensure monthly performance evaluation tracking and processing for the enterprise.
  • Maintain professional hygiene and appearance.
  • Attend and satisfactorily complete all training assigned by the supervisor or Human Resources Department.
  • Perform job duties in accordance with Casino Safety Policies and Procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Education, Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field OR 2 years general Human Resources experience, recruitment specific preferred; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must possess Class III Gaming License.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in recruitment specific roles is preferred.
  • Ability to work extended hours, including weekends.
