About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Airlite Plastics is responsible for high-volume recruitment initiatives and fostering positive employee relations within the organization. This role involves collaborating with the Talent Acquisition team to implement effective recruitment strategies, ensuring compliance with employee relations policies, and providing guidance to employees. The specialist will also handle various administrative tasks related to recruitment and general HR functions, contributing to a healthy work environment and efficient onboarding processes.

Responsibilities

  • Source and engage in high volume recruitment initiatives for the assigned business unit.
  • Promote positive relationships within the organization.
  • Collaborate with the Talent Acquisition team to implement effective recruitment strategies.
  • Ensure execution of employee relations policies and practices are fair and legally compliant.
  • Resolve workplace conflicts and provide guidance to employees.
  • Foster a healthy work environment and provide an efficient onboarding experience for candidates.
  • Screen, review, and interview applicants to evaluate qualifications.
  • Post job openings, schedule interviews, and conduct initial screenings of candidates.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with employees and managers to learn key engagement issues.
  • Conduct thorough investigations regarding employee concerns and recommend actions.
  • Maintain accurate records of employee relations cases and generate reports to identify trends.
  • Ensure company policies are consistently applied and compliant with labor laws.
  • Provide proactive input to managers regarding employee engagement and retention.
  • Create employee files and audit for accuracy.
  • Consult with leaders regarding staffing needs and attend career fairs as needed.
  • Complete new-employee processing to meet payroll and compliance requirements.
  • Answer general HR questions and maintain an updated roster of job opportunities.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR team and audit compliance programs.

Requirements

  • BS/BA degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in a professional, corporate, or staffing talent acquisition environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills and experience with ATS systems.
  • Ability to travel to the plant in Statesville, NC as needed.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Strong customer service focus and impeccable engagement skills.
  • Knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to recruitment and HR.
  • Capability to solve complex problems with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Outstanding presentation and facilitation skills.
