About the position

The Human Resource Specialist at Highmark Residential plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resource Department by facilitating HR processes to enhance the associate experience throughout the employment lifecycle. This position is essential for building partnerships with hiring managers, overseeing recruitment workflows, and ensuring compliance with hiring policies and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Build collaborative partnerships with hiring managers and educate them on Highmark's hiring policies and practices.
  • Oversee the hiring workflow to ensure proper job postings, assessments, references, offer letters, pre-employment screenings, and onboarding.
  • Accurately enter candidate data into HRIS and follow up on missing/incomplete new hire documentation.
  • Assist hiring managers to ensure hiring needs are met and provide guidance in the selection of the best candidate.
  • Assist managers in utilizing ATS and HRIS systems.
  • Assist Talent Manager in developing innovative talent and engagement strategies.
  • Provide operational and administrative support to the Human Resources team.
  • Interact with Equifax in responding to unemployment claims.
  • Maintain accurate HR records on all associates within UKG.
  • Cross-train in other HR functional areas.
  • Commit to continuous learning to keep up with changes in employment law and best practices in the apartment industry.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of all personnel information.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned by Talent Manager or Managers in the HR Department.
  • Occasional overtime/weekends may be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma; college degree preferred.
  • 2 to 3 years of HR administrative experience.
  • Average proficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • UltiPro (UKG) experience preferred.
  • Professional communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong time management skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
