About the position

The Human Resources Specialist (Regional Recruiter) position is located within the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), specifically in the Office of Talent Acquisition (HRT), Corporate Recruitment Unit (HRCR). The primary purpose of this role is to conduct strategic workforce planning, which involves analyzing current and future organizational skills requirements and capabilities. This includes identifying competency gaps and designing plans and programs to ensure that the organization can successfully meet its current and future mission requirements. The position is open to career transition federal employees who meet the definition of a "surplus" or "displaced" employee, as well as to the public, including U.S. Citizens and Nationals. As a Human Resources Specialist, your typical work assignments will encompass a variety of responsibilities. You will participate in the development, initiation, and implementation of complex programs and projects associated with strategic planning, human capital, and diversity. This includes analyzing, assessing, and developing both short and long-term recruitment strategies aimed at achieving DEA-wide strategic recruitment and workforce planning initiatives. You will also be responsible for developing recruitment and outreach initiatives at both regional and national levels to raise awareness and interest in DEA career opportunities. In addition, you will serve as the primary representative during recruitment events, communicating vital information regarding the DEA and its mission while recruiting qualified candidates. Collaboration with stakeholders from Field Divisions and Headquarters will be essential to determine measurement methodologies that ensure precise assessment of the effectiveness of recruitment initiatives and events. This role requires a proactive approach to workforce planning and recruitment, ensuring that the DEA attracts and retains the talent necessary to fulfill its mission.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the development, initiation, and implementation of complex programs and projects associated with strategic planning, human capital, and diversity.
  • Analyze, assess, and develop short and long-term recruitment strategies to achieve DEA-wide strategic recruitment and workforce planning initiatives.
  • Develop recruitment and outreach initiatives for regional and national levels to provide awareness and interest in DEA career opportunities.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Employment is subject to the successful completion of a background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
  • Incumbent is subject to random drug testing.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid motor vehicle operator's license while employed in the position.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in analyzing and assessing marketing and outreach program operations.
  • Experience in collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement recruitment strategies or alternative staffing/sourcing methods.
  • Experience in leading recruitment outreach activities and establishing regional recruitment plans for universities, colleges, the public, and private sectors.
