About the position

The Human Resources Specialist position at the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) involves providing expert HR guidance and support within a high-stakes environment at Lambert St. Louis International Airport. The role focuses on resolving HR-related issues, ensuring compliance with regulations, and supporting the agency's mission to secure transportation systems across the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Human Resource related advice and guidance to professionals, managers, and employees.
  • Initiate, track, and follow up on cases and studies ensuring timely completion and regulatory compliance.
  • Provide technical interpretations and guidance on Human Resource Management matters such as employee relations, labor relations, payroll and benefits, classification, staffing, and recruitment.
  • Coordinate with Office of Human Capital senior specialists to ensure human capital decisions are consistent with Merit System Principles.
  • Review decision letters regarding appeals and grievances for accuracy prior to delivery.
  • Formulate creative resolutions to problems by applying knowledge of Workers' Compensation and other applicable technical program areas.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship or U.S. National status is required.
  • One year of specialized experience at the SV-G or GS-11 level in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private sector, specifically in Employee Relations, Labor Relations, Staffing, Payroll, and Benefits.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a federal agency or similar governmental organization.
