About the position

The Human Resources Specialist provides essential administrative and clerical support to the Human Resources Division of the Superior Court. This role involves data entry, maintenance of the Human Resources Information System (HRIS), processing leaves of absence, and supporting benefits administration and wellness programs. The specialist acts as a liaison between employees and HR functions, ensuring smooth operations within the department.

Responsibilities

  • Enters various data and processes employment transactions in HRIS with attention to detail.
  • Prepares personnel action forms (PAFs) for documenting status, pay, and position changes.
  • Processes employment candidates' information and assists with onboarding new hires.
  • Coordinates the completion of resignation and retirement notices for exiting employees.
  • Assists employees with interpretation of HR policies and procedures and processes related forms.
  • Advises employees on benefit programs and eligibility, researching issues as needed.
  • Coordinates requests for temporary coverage for employee absences and maintains documentation.
  • Acts as the HR representative interfacing with the public and vendors to coordinate benefit programs and process workers compensation claims.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business or Public Administration or related field with some experience in HR; OR an Associate's degree with two years of HR administrative support experience; OR four years of progressively responsible paraprofessional work experience with two years in HR; OR an equivalent combination of experience and education.
