About the position

We are seeking a dedicated Human Resources Specialist to join our team at Melrose Clothing Stores in San Antonio, TX. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting the HR department and ensuring smooth HR operations. This position is full-time and offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $18 to $20. The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for various HR functions, including onboarding new hires, managing job postings, and sending training materials to new employees and those who have been promoted. Additionally, the specialist will check references for potential candidates, run background checks, and log disciplinary action forms as necessary. The role also involves assisting with payroll verification, preparing employment verification letters, and supporting the recruitment and orientation processes for warehouse personnel. The specialist will be tasked with preparing purchase orders for department supplies and sending out monthly birthday cards and anniversary certificates to employees. This position requires strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, ensuring that all HR operations run smoothly and efficiently. The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum of six months of experience in an office environment. Bilingual candidates (Spanish/English) are preferred, as well as those with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize projects while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is essential, along with the ability to learn and utilize a human resource information system (HRIS).
