About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Dee Norton Child Advocacy Center is responsible for fostering an organizational culture that aligns with the Center's mission. This role involves managing recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and performance management while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The specialist will collaborate with the Leadership Team to develop and implement human resource strategies that support a healthy, productive, and engaged workforce.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the recruitment process to ensure a diverse and inclusive workforce.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify staffing needs and implement hiring strategies.
  • Manage onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a timely manner.
  • Implement programs for employee engagement, wellness, and retention.
  • Coach employees and supervisors on managing difficult conversations.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws and maintain HR policies and procedures.
  • Administer employee benefits programs and ensure competitive salary benchmarking.
  • Oversee performance review processes and provide guidance on performance improvement plans.
  • Manage the Human Resources/Payroll software platform and maintain employee records.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Resources.
  • Minimum 7 to 10 years of experience in Human Resources.
  • PHR or SHRM Certification desired.
  • Experience working in non-profit or child advocacy sectors preferred.
  • Experience with Human Resource software platforms.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
