About the position

The Human Resources Specialist position at the Fulton County Sheriff's Office is responsible for providing clerical support for daily departmental operations. This includes maintaining documentation, responding to inquiries regarding department activities, and performing various administrative tasks to ensure efficient functioning of the department.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer service functions in person, by telephone, or by email; provide information and assistance regarding department services, forms, or other issues; respond to routine questions, complaints, or requests for service; initiate problem resolution.
  • Enter data into computer systems; log, track, or maintain records regarding department activities; compile data for further processing or for use in preparation of department reports; file, maintain, and store hardcopy records.
  • Maintain a file system of a variety of confidential files/records and information; prepare files, organize documentation, and file documents in designated order; retrieve/replaces files; scan records into computer; shred/destroy confidential or obsolete documents; conduct records maintenance activities in compliance with guidelines governing record retention.
  • Research, compile, and/or monitor administrative, statistical, or other data pertaining to department operations; summarize data, perform routine data analysis, and prepare reports; conduct research of department files, database records, electronic data sources, Internet sites, hardcopy materials, or other sources as needed.
  • Process a variety of documentation associated with department/division operations, within designated timeframes and per established procedures; receive and review various documentation, including applications, employee information and data, and policies and procedures; prepare or complete various forms, reports, correspondence, and other documentation, including lists, directories, logs, notices, memos, and meeting minutes.
  • Operate a personal computer to enter, retrieve, review, or modify data, utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation, Internet, e-mail, or other software; operate general office or other equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Two years of experience in administrative or clerical work, customer service, or related field.
  • Proficiency in HR software, systems, and Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

Nice-to-haves
