About the position

The Willamette Education Service District is seeking a full-time Human Resources Specialist to join its Human Resources Department. This position is critical for managing leaves and benefits administration, which will be a primary focus of the role. The successful candidate will work 40 hours per week, following a 250-day calendar, and will be based at the Willamette ESD Marion Center in Salem, OR. The position is expected to begin as soon as possible after the selection process is completed. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in benefits administration and the necessary knowledge and experience to effectively manage these functions. This role is represented by the Oregon School Employees Association and offers a salary range of $22.88 to $29.26 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience. Willamette ESD provides support for health, dental, and vision insurance premiums for eligible employees, along with employer-paid PERS, holidays, sick leave, and personal days.

Responsibilities

  • Manage leaves and benefits administration for employees.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Provide support and guidance to employees regarding benefits and leave options.
  • Maintain accurate records related to employee benefits and leaves.
  • Collaborate with other HR team members to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Conduct training sessions for staff on benefits administration and related topics.

Requirements

  • Strong background in leaves and benefits administration.
  • Experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations regarding employee benefits.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
