About the position

The HR Specialist at Cascade Connections will manage a variety of human resources functions, including recruitment, compliance, benefits administration, and reporting. This role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively while ensuring adherence to HR laws and best practices.

Responsibilities

  • Assist managers with recruitment and onboarding processes through Cascade's HRIS system.
  • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries and concerns, escalating issues as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local labor laws and maintain accurate HR documentation.
  • Conduct monthly HR audits, including benefit audits and I-9 audits.
  • Assist employees with benefits-related questions and facilitate the annual open enrollment process.
  • Develop, implement, and communicate HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency across the organization.
  • Prepare and maintain reports on HR metrics, such as turnover rates and recruitment statistics.
  • Manage L&I information and respond to unemployment claims in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in an HR role, preferably as an HR Specialist.
  • Strong knowledge of HR laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus.
  • Experience working in nonprofits.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
