About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at D&R Tank Company is responsible for a variety of HR functions, including payroll processing, employee onboarding, and benefits administration. This role requires a detail-oriented and proactive individual who can manage multiple tasks while maintaining confidentiality and effective communication, particularly in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Process payroll on a weekly basis, including payroll taxes and deductions.
  • Reconcile timesheets and pay rates to ensure accuracy.
  • Calculate and process 401(k) contributions and health insurance deductions.
  • Generate child support and subsistence checks.
  • Manage new hire paperwork and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Conduct vacation and sick pay reconciliations.
  • Oversee annual 401(k) contributions reconciliation and reporting.
  • Manage health and life insurance plan renewals at year-end.
  • Prepare certified payroll reports and apprenticeship payments.
  • Handle quarterly tax filings and ensure compliance with job licenses and permits.
  • Manage and record safety training sessions for employees.
  • Maintain a monthly list for safety counseling visits.
  • Perform front desk duties every other Friday.
  • Coordinate office kitchen supplies, including coffee, silverware, plates, and cups.
  • Shop for and prepare for office potlucks and events, including tracking expenses for beverages.
  • Manage the T-Mobile account for employee mobile services.
  • Organize the annual Christmas party and other team-building events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related experience.
  • Proven experience in payroll processing and HR functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
