About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at the Department of Defense is responsible for providing expert guidance and support in various civilian personnel functions, including recruitment, placement, and retention. This role involves advising senior leaders on personnel management programs and policies, ensuring effective execution of HR strategies, and serving as a subject matter expert on special emphasis programs.

Responsibilities

• Assist other Human Resources Specialists in analyzing, planning, coordinating, and executing civilian personnel functions.
• Provide expert advice to senior leaders on civilian personnel management programs and policies.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on assigned personnel special emphasis programs and provide guidance regarding these programs.
• Analyze and evaluate program execution, recognizing problems and developing solutions to complex issues.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Experience advising on a range of civilian HR management functions including recruitment and accessions.
• Experience coordinating hiring actions and assisting management in documentation preparation.
• Experience providing advice on hiring practices associated with special recruitment programs.
