About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at GMS is a full-time role based in Atlanta, GA, focused on providing HR support to small clients. The position emphasizes customer service, relationship building, and administrative HR tasks, making it ideal for individuals looking to advance their HR careers in a supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an HR point of contact for hundreds of small clients (under 10 employees)
  • Handle HR administrative tasks like onboarding troubleshooting, policy development, and job description creation
  • Provide basic HR consulting services on employee issues
  • Solve day-to-day issues/concerns related to GMS services while acting as a liaison between clients and other departments
  • Monitor and manage an incoming queue of client emails via shared inbox and manage and track tasks and actions within our CRM
  • Maintain client/GMS relationship to attain client retention and satisfaction
  • Assist the HR Account Managers with higher level HR projects as needed
  • Perform reference checks, background checks, and drug screenings for client employees/candidates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university preferred
  • 1-2 years related experience preferred
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience is accepted
  • Valid driver's license required; must be willing to travel 15% of the time
