The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for creating and overseeing a comprehensive onboarding process for new faculty and staff, which includes managing and tracking HR training specific to their job functions. This position will also involve tracking mandatory training requirements set by New York State, Federal regulations, and SUNY, ensuring compliance through diligent follow-up. Additionally, the specialist will track and approve personnel actions such as payroll, extra service payments, and new hire paperwork in collaboration with payroll staff. Another key responsibility will be assisting with budget oversight for the division, including coordinating annual reviews of adjunct and extra service payment rates. The specialist will verify budget availability for new positions, salary increases, and temporary services, ensuring that all financial aspects align with the university's policies. Collaboration with OAA leadership is essential to ensure the timely and accurate submission of extra service payment requests, as well as managing the adjunct faculty search process effectively.
