About the position

The Human Resources Specialist will play a crucial role in supporting the HR functions of the organization, focusing on employee onboarding and offboarding, recruitment, benefits administration, and compliance with HR laws and regulations. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills to effectively manage various HR tasks and support the overall performance of the company.

Responsibilities

• Support onboarding and offboarding employees
• Consult with managers to identify hiring needs in support of contract performance
• Assist with all leave of absences, including FMLA and Short Term Disability
• Prepare and update employment records related to hiring, transferring, promoting, and terminating
• Assist with benefits administration activities, including health, dental, vision, Life/AD&D, LTD, STD, and FSA
• Responsible for recruitment efforts and hiring process, including coordinating job posts, reviewing resumes, and performing reference checks
• Maintain company compliance with all human resource laws and regulations
• Handle employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors
• Assist with onboarding activities including orientation, I-9, E-Verify, employee file creation, and timekeeping training for new hires
• Participate in HR projects and initiatives as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
• 2+ years of experience in a full-time Human Resources role required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
• Proficiency in HRIS and talent management systems
