About the position

BISON Transport USA is seeking a Human Resources Specialist to support the HR department in various functions including recruitment, benefits management, employee relations, and legal compliance. This role involves routine employee contact and requires the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information effectively. The HR Specialist may specialize in specific HR areas while contributing to overarching HR functions.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, manage, and assist in the recruitment process for job vacancies.
• Act as the point of contact for Human Resources issues at the terminal/location.
• Provide guidance and support to employees regarding leave of absence processes.
• Assist employees and the Benefits Administrator with claims and benefits-related matters.
• Ensure compliance with applicable employment legislation and advise management on employee relations issues.
• Assist with performance management and progressive discipline, including drafting necessary paperwork.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field, or high school diploma with 1 year of demonstrated experience.
• 1 year of experience in human resources functions.
• PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to maintain integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
