  • Analyze hiring and promotional practices for compliance with federal law.
  • Represent the HR office in agency meetings regarding organizational changes.
  • Draft policy statements for review and approval by the HR Director.
  • Coordinate recruiting, selection, and placement activities for the agency.

Requirements

  • A baccalaureate degree plus three years of professional level human resources experience.
  • Six years of full-time work experience in any field may substitute for the required degree.
  • A Master's degree in relevant fields may substitute for one year of experience.
  • Possession of a Juris Doctorate may substitute for one year of experience.
  • A Ph.D. in relevant fields may substitute for two years of experience.
  • Certification by SHRM as PHR, SPHR, CP, or SCP may substitute for one year of experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a state agency or government HR environment.
  • Knowledge of Civil Service rules and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
