About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Holman is responsible for managing the I-9 process, ensuring compliance by obtaining necessary documents from new hires. This role involves handling HR inquiries, managing physical mail, supporting HR projects, and maintaining documentation. The specialist will also manage unemployment claims, assist with employee events, and ensure compliance with employment law updates. This position requires strong administrative skills and proficiency in various Microsoft Office tools, along with a commitment to confidentiality and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the I-9 process and ensure compliance with required documentation from new hires.
  • Handle HR inquiries through the HR vanity inbox and manage physical mail.
  • Provide support for HR projects and maintain documentation and tracking.
  • Work with IT to produce reports and compile data for HR projects.
  • Manage unemployment claims and coordinate with local Business Partners.
  • Provide administrative support for employee events and ensure timely updates of employment law posters.
  • Assist in administrative auditing of various business units.
  • Accurately file and store employee-related documents in OnBase and/or Workday.
  • Support the HR Support team with project work and temporary coverage as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in administrative services or related fields.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, and SharePoint.
  • Familiarity with office technology and equipment.
  • Ability to handle highly confidential information with discretion.

Nice-to-haves

  • Additional education, certifications, or experience in HR or administrative roles.
  • Experience with Workday.
