About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Carastar Health is responsible for managing various HR functions including talent acquisition, personnel file maintenance, and compliance with employment laws. This role involves verifying personnel information, screening applicants, and ensuring that employee training is up to date. The specialist will also collaborate with staffing agencies and assist in the onboarding process for new hires.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and input personnel information into electronic systems and software programs.
  • Review, update, and post vacant positions.
  • Screen applications and schedule qualified applicants for interviews.
  • Maintain personnel files ensuring compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Agency policies, procedures, and laws.
  • Track employee training and ensure all required trainings are current and documented.
  • Assist in the collection and processing of data regarding recommended applicants.
  • Ensure selected applicants' compliance with the onboarding process and orientation.
  • Collaborate with staffing agencies to coordinate services and maintain a list of approved temporary staff.
  • Process and track employee evaluations.
  • Draft correspondence, proofread, and edit as necessary.
  • Order and maintain office supplies, ensuring adequate levels are available.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree plus one year of Human Resources experience or High School diploma with six years of experience in Human Resources.
  • Must secure and maintain current CPI and Red Cross First Aid/CPR certifications.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and consistent accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Well-versed in Federal, State, and Local employment and labor laws.
  • Considerable Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Ability to interact with leaders and employees at all levels.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge and proficiency in personal computer systems and software applications.
