About the position

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Human Resources Specialist to be responsible for a range of HR functions, including recruitment, systems training, employee relations, HRMS management, and compliance. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR practices, excellent interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality. This HR Specialist role is an office-based position at the Home Office in Aberdeen, SD. The Human Resources Specialist will manage the Applicant Tracking System and the hiring process, which includes applicant screening, advertising, and posting job vacancies for all communities. This role will direct and optimize processes for new employee onboarding paperwork and HRMS onboarding for new employees. The Specialist will create and maintain effective training modules and job aids for front-end users of the HRMS, conducting virtual training for all Business Office Managers and additional HRMS user training as needed. In addition, the HR Specialist will provide ongoing customer service, troubleshooting assistance, and guidance to HRMS users, resolving issues in a timely and professional manner. They will oversee and enhance an Employee Engagement Calendar Toolkit to support Primrose culture and build employee retention. The Specialist will also develop and maintain accurate job descriptions for all job positions, process E-Verify requests timely, and provide guidance on Form I-9 completion. They will complete company driver authorizations and maintain current driver records, as well as maintain HR spending records for monthly reconciliation. The HR Specialist will serve as a liaison between the organization and external HR vendors and partners, which may include pre-employment screening, job advertising, and vehicle insurance companies. They will handle incoming mail for the HR department, ensuring timely distribution and processing, and process employment verification requests, providing accurate and timely responses to external inquiries. Maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of human resource records and files is crucial, as is performing tasks as assigned by the Director of Human Resources, in alignment with Primrose HR team's mission and goals.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field.
  • At least three years of human resource management experience is preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and presentation skills.
  • Adept with a variety of multimedia training platforms and methods.
  • Ability to design and implement effective training and engagement tools.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization's HRMS system.
  • Ability to multi-task with frequent interruptions.
