About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Saint Anthony Hospital plays a crucial role in supporting the Human Resources department by planning, implementing, communicating, and administering various HR programs, policies, and practices. This position is integral to the success of HR initiatives, including performance management, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and training. The specialist will work closely with the HR Business Partner to provide support on employee and labor relations investigations, ensuring that all processes are handled with care and professionalism. In addition to supporting HR initiatives, the specialist will participate in developing departmental goals, objectives, and systems, ensuring that both departmental and organizational goals are met. This includes recommending and implementing HR policies and procedures that reflect current practices and changes in the workplace. The specialist will also be responsible for reviewing contracts quarterly to ensure they are up-to-date, reporting on any contracts that need renewal, and making recommendations based on the current needs of the department. A key responsibility of this role is to analyze data to identify patterns or trends, which will inform appropriate strategies and implementation plans aimed at achieving departmental goals. The specialist will take a lead role in the Employee Engagement Survey, ensuring that communication initiatives are effectively executed and that there is active follow-up with all managers throughout the survey process, from go-live to post-analysis and action planning phases. Furthermore, the specialist will support employee events and programs sponsored by the Human Resources department, recommending process changes to ensure the successful implementation of all programs and events. Collaboration with various Centers of Expertise, including Employee Relations, Compensation, Benefits, HRIS, Talent Acquisition, and Talent Management and Development, is essential to ensure cohesive delivery of HR programs and services. Staying updated on regulatory compliance, industry standards, and specific HR-related skills and knowledge is vital for success in this role. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Support Human Resources in planning, implementing, communicating, and administering HR programs, policies, and practices.
  • Participate in various HR cross-functional initiatives including performance management, employee engagement, regulatory compliance, and training.
  • Provide support to HR Business Partner on employee and labor relations investigations.
  • Participate in developing department goals, objectives, and systems to ensure organizational goals are met.
  • Recommend and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring the Handbook reflects changes.
  • Review contracts quarterly to ensure they are current and report on any that need renewal.
  • Analyze data to determine patterns or trends and develop strategies to achieve goals.
  • Lead the Employee Engagement Survey and ensure communication initiatives are in place with follow-up to managers.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred.
  • Experience in human resources or a related field is required.
  • Strong understanding of HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to analyze data and identify trends or patterns.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems.
