About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Sunstates Security plays a crucial role in supporting multi-state operations from the regional office in Phoenix, AZ. This in-person position focuses on recruiting high-potential candidates, managing employee relations, and ensuring compliance with HR policies and procedures. The role emphasizes the importance of maintaining a diverse workforce and providing excellent support to employees throughout their career journey within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and recruit high-potential candidates whose skills align with the company's needs.
  • Work with management to identify internal hiring needs and create job descriptions.
  • Conduct the full interview process including phone and in-person interviews, background checks, and reference checks.
  • Assist with the onboarding process for new hires, including tracking pre-employment paperwork and creating offer letters.
  • Continuously update the Application Tracking System with relevant information.
  • Utilize social media to advertise open positions and connect with candidates.
  • Attend local networking events and job fairs to interact with potential candidates.
  • Travel to regional locations to assist with recruiting and onboarding.
  • Maintain proper licensing for employees in the state.
  • Run Overtime and Turnover reports and assist with reducing them.
  • Complete safety and accident reporting and obtain random drug test results.
  • Review schedules and submit payroll.
  • Complete QA audits at client sites and the regional office.
  • Assist with employee relations issues, performance reviews, and disciplinary issues.
  • Respond to unemployment hearings electronically via ADP.
  • Submit termination reports with backup documentation when appropriate.
  • Coordinate new hire completion of Sunstates Security Orientation and SOLO.
  • Ensure proper training and education records are complete and saved in personnel files.
  • Assist with employee questions/training on eHub, LMS, and Post Orders.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related fields highly preferred.
  • At least 3 years experience in an HR Generalist role.
  • Experience with an hourly employee base and multi-state operations is highly preferred.
  • Ability to travel to assist with hiring, employee relations, and account start-up operations as needed.
