About the position

The Human Resources Specialist will play a crucial role in the recruitment process, managing everything from sourcing candidates to hiring. This position involves maintaining accurate employee data in HRIS systems and assisting in employee communications. The specialist will ensure compliance with employment laws and promote a positive workplace culture.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, facilitates, and implements all phases of the recruitment process including job postings and attending job fairs.
  • Schedules interviews and oversees preparation of interview questions and selection materials.
  • Conducts interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensures data integrity and consistency across various systems and databases.
  • Inputs employee information into the payroll system, including personal details and benefits.
  • Collaborates with the HR Director during the offer process, recommending salary ranges and start dates.
  • Conducts background checks and employee eligibility verifications.
  • Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants and employees, referring complex matters to appropriate staff.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Promotes good citizenship and maintains confidentiality regarding school and student information.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least one year of human resource recruitment and/or benefits management experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Proficient with Google applications, HRIS, and benefits software.
