The Human Resources Specialist will handle and provide support for various HR employee programs within the organization. This role is essential in facilitating New Hire Orientation and ensuring that all personnel files are maintained in compliance with applicable legal requirements. The specialist will keep employee records up to date by processing employee status changes in a timely manner and maintaining a listing of approved hires while tracking terminations with proper communication. Effective communication with internal employees and managers regarding Human Resources processes is crucial, as is having a strong understanding of Cambria's benefits to answer any related questions. In addition to these responsibilities, the HR Specialist will effectively file forms in personnel files, distribute mail, and assist with unemployment claims. Participation in meetings and assisting in improving processes will also be part of the role, along with handling ad hoc projects assigned depending on business needs. The specialist will escalate issues to the Human Resources Manager when necessary and must maintain a positive, solution-focused demeanor when responding to conflicts or problems. This position requires a high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation, along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Attention to detail is critical in composing, typing, and proofing materials, as well as establishing priorities and meeting deadlines. The HR Specialist must maintain a high level of confidentiality and a sense of urgency, possess excellent customer relations skills, and have strong problem-solving abilities. A basic knowledge of employment laws is also preferred, and being bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.
