About the position

The Human Resources Intern at Marsh McLennan Agency Midwest is a collaborative team player who provides enthusiastic administrative support to the Human Resources function. This role involves engaging with various members of the HR team and business stakeholders to ensure adherence to HR processes and foster effective relationships for career advancement and business communication.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to execute onboarding activities for new hires.
  • Assist the Human Resources team with collecting, organizing, and filing necessary new hire paperwork.
  • Review and verify employment eligibility documents provided by new hires to ensure compliance with Form I-9 requirements.
  • Conduct regular audits of HR systems to ensure data accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies or errors in HR systems data, working closely with the HR team to implement necessary corrections.
  • Provide administrative support to the recruitment team throughout the various stages of the recruitment process.
  • Support the Human Resources team in organizing various events for the summer internship program.
  • Manage the intern intranet page throughout the duration of internships, including communicating upcoming events or important announcements to interns.
  • Assist the Human Resources team with other various projects as needed.
  • Encourage interns to share ideas and insights, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development amongst the group.
  • Serve as a resource for other interns, answering questions and providing guidance.
  • Participate in team meetings and Human Resources webinars for skill and knowledge development.
  • Seek opportunities to learn from experienced team members, leveraging their knowledge and expertise to enhance understanding of Human Resources concepts and practices.
  • Establish connections and effective working relationships with MMA colleagues, fellow interns within the internship program, and interns within other MMA regions.
  • Work toward achieving individual and team goals.
  • Develop and deliver group presentation on assigned topic with other interns.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of undergraduate completed.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Pursuing BS/BA in Human Resources or related field.
  • Intermediate or advanced skill level with Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail.
