About the position

Executive Jet Management, a Berkshire Hathaway company, is looking to hire a Human Resources Summer Intern to work at our Headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio. This paid 10-week internship will start June 5, 2025 and run through August 8, 2025. EJM offers a flexible schedule conducive to a students' schedule with encouraged participation in company events throughout the Summer. 35-40 hours per week will be expected of each intern. A complete application and resume must be submitted to be considered. Preference will be given to local students in the Cincinnati area. This position was created for sophomore-senior status undergraduate students studying human resources.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and complete department assigned project(s) in a timely and effective manner.
  • Collaborate directly with a department mentor; set goals and monitor progress.
  • Develop an understanding of the EJM operations, approach, methodology & tools.
  • Assist in posting job openings, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, and communicating with candidates.
  • Help prepare onboarding materials, coordinate orientation sessions, and ensure new hires have the necessary resources.
  • Maintain and update employee records, ensuring all information is accurate and confidential.
  • Assist in entering data into HR systems and generating reports on metrics like employee turnover or training effectiveness.
  • Participate in initiatives to enhance employee engagement, such as organizing team-building activities or surveys.
  • Help ensure compliance with labor laws and regulations by assisting in audits or record-keeping.
  • Perform general office tasks like answering phones, managing correspondence, and filing documents.

Requirements

  • Must be currently enrolled in a human resources undergraduate program, working towards a Bachelor's Degree.
  • Task-oriented, organized, and conscientious.
  • Clear, professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivated, positive, personable, and ability to develop relationships.
  • Must be proficient in EXCEL, Word, Outlook and have experience with internet research.
  • Must be comfortable with Excel spreadsheets, tracking, and analysis.
  • Excellent critical thinking/problem solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
