About the position

The Human Resources Supervisor is responsible for supporting the HR department in various functions including staffing, hiring, orientation, training, employee relations, and record keeping. This role also involves providing support for payroll and safety departments, overseeing temporary personnel, and acting as the HR Manager in their absence. The position aims to ensure adequate staffing levels, promote employee satisfaction, and maintain compliance with legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations and support leaders to ensure adequate staffing levels.
  • Oversee the facility's onboarding process for new employees.
  • Champion the facility's New Hire Orientation program.
  • Work on the department's succession planning process at a non-exempt level.
  • Provide leadership for recognition and rewards programs.
  • Advise managers and supervisors on the progressive discipline system.
  • Counsel managers on employment issues and foster a welcoming environment.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of HR support personnel.
  • Train HR staff on legal updates and standards for compliance.
  • Prepare and analyze data to evaluate HR Department accomplishments.
  • Coordinate audits to ensure compliance with regulatory agency requirements.

Requirements

  • 5 years minimum in a Human Resources position, preferably in a food manufacturing/beverage environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of State and Federal Laws.
  • Excellent verbal and written English skills.
  • Bilingual, biliterate skills strongly preferred.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • High level of skill in handling sensitive and confidential situations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Database programs, preferably ADP, ACCESS or HRIS.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a food manufacturing or beverage environment.
  • Bilingual skills in languages other than English.
