The Human Resources Support Specialist position at Oregon State University (OSU) is a full-time, 12-month professional faculty role within the University Human Resources (UHR) department. This position is integral to the HR Service Center team, which provides quality services to the OSU community, including academic, teaching, research, and administrative customers. The HR Support Specialist will be responsible for a variety of HR functions, including processing job and employment terminations, managing leave adjustments, and handling transactions through a software ticketing system. The role requires HRIS data entry, auditing, and data management, as well as assisting units and employees with job change activities throughout the employee lifecycle. The HR Support Specialist will perform customer service duties, data entry, and processing-related tasks while serving as a resource for state, federal, and university rules, policies, and procedures. The position operates under general guidance from the supervising HR Support Services Coordinator, HR Support Services Manager, or Associate Director. The successful candidate will be expected to manage employee job changes and terminations, oversee systems and records management, monitor and audit HRIS data, support collective bargaining efforts, and participate in training and professional development activities.
