About the position

Currently, we are seeking a qualified Human Resources Support to work collaboratively with our sawmill in Eugene, Oregon. The position involves providing administrative support to the Human Resources Department of a large manufacturing facility, effectively managing payroll processes, recordkeeping, and documentation for 250-300 hourly personnel. The role also includes actively working to recruit, screen, reference check, and evaluate qualified applicants, engaging in a friendly and professional manner with the public and potential job applicants, and assisting with various Human Resources functions for hourly personnel. Additionally, the candidate will communicate Company policies and benefit information, audit and monitor Company HR policies, assist in developing employee communications, and handle sensitive information with discretion.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department of a large manufacturing facility
  • Effectively manage payroll processes, recordkeeping, and documentation for 250-300 hourly personnel
  • Actively work to recruit, screen, reference check, and evaluate qualified applicants
  • Engage in a friendly and professional manner with the public and potential job applicants
  • Assist with various Human Resources functions for hourly personnel
  • Appropriately communicate Company policies and benefit information
  • Audit, monitor, and implement Company HR policies and maintain appropriate records
  • Assist in developing and distributing effective and engaging employee communications
  • Use critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with minimal supervision
  • Work efficiently to meet established deadlines and adapt to changing priorities
  • Effectively and discretely handle sensitive and/or confidential information
  • Assist with office clerical duties as needed

Requirements

  • 2 years recent and progressive office admin work, or education equivalent
  • Prior Human Resources and/or payroll experience desired
  • Experienced working independently, discretely, and in managing confidential information
  • Excellent communication skills with emphasis on professionalism
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Detail-oriented, organized, with demonstrated ability to adapt and prioritize quickly
