About the position

The HR Specialist position at a non-profit healthcare provider focuses on recruiting top talent and managing core HR functions. This role is essential for supporting the organization's mission to provide high-quality, evidence-based services for children with autism and other neurodevelopmental conditions. The specialist will work closely with leadership to develop hiring strategies and ensure compliance with HR policies and labor laws.

Responsibilities

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing, and onboarding for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and other clinical/non-clinical roles.
  • Collaborate with leadership to develop and execute hiring strategies, building talent pipelines for future growth.
  • Oversee candidate full-cycle recruiting experience.
  • Create, manage, and maintain employee records (new hires, terminations, status changes).
  • Assist with developing and implementing HR policies, ensuring compliance with labor laws and best practices.
  • Coordinate and participate in recruitment events, job fairs, and conferences.
  • Lead HR administrative functions, including benefits administration, performance evaluations, and workforce planning.
  • Facilitate employee engagement initiatives to promote a positive workplace culture.
  • Support ongoing employee development through training, counseling, and recognition programs.
  • Advise management on organizational change, employee relations, and talent development.
  • Perform audits of employee files and ensure compliance with onboarding requirements (background checks, medical clearances, etc.).
  • Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years of human resources experience.
  • Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and active listening skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of labor laws and HR best practices.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and HR software.
