About the position

The Talent Acquisition Specialist at Columbia Public Schools is responsible for coordinating recruitment activities and managing the application process for a large volume of applicants annually. This role involves maintaining job postings, auditing job descriptions, assisting in recruitment functions, and managing the applicant tracking system. The specialist will also provide support to hiring supervisors and ensure effective communication throughout the recruitment process.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and keep current the district's job postings.
  • Audit all job descriptions to ensure they are current and accurate.
  • Assist Recruitment Specialist in planning recruiting functions including online/social media recruiting, newspaper advertisements, and job fairs.
  • Manage the TalentEd applicant tracking system and assist applicants and hiring supervisors with system functionality and district procedures.
  • Provide assistance to applicants in-person and via phone regarding the application process and job postings.
  • Review applicant materials and provide hiring supervisors with pools of qualified applicants.
  • Create training and resource materials for consistent and efficient system use.
  • Provide individual training on a regular basis.
  • Troubleshoot the Applicant Tracking system and assess for enhancements.
  • Oversee the District's facilitated transfer process.
  • Collect recruitment and retention data for HR Leadership review and analysis.
  • Assist with applicant screening, selection, and onboarding activities as necessary.
  • Screen applications for hiring supervisors and assist in interviews or create interview packets.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent plus three years progressively responsible administrative experience or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking systems or comparable database systems is preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet deadlines without supervision.
