About The Position

The Human Resources Technician II position is responsible for providing administrative and data entry support to the Human Resources Department. This role involves managing employee information, assisting with payroll processes, and ensuring the functionality of HR systems. The technician will also provide support to various departments and assist in training new users on the HR management system.

Requirements

  • Completion of an associate's degree or specialized training in the occupational field.
  • Basic skills typically associated with high school education.
  • 1-2 years of experience in a similar position or apprenticeship/internship.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Advantage 4 Human Resources Management and Payroll System or other governmental HR systems.
  • Skill in using a scanner, computers, and various software programs.

Responsibilities

  • Enters new employee information into the Advantage 4 Human Resources Management (HRM) payroll system.
  • Reports new hires to the Georgia New Hire Reporting Agency.
  • Assists with basic requests related to access and navigation within the Employee Self-Service (ESS) and Management Self-Service (MSS) applications.
  • Maintains application functionality within ESS and MSS.
  • Reviews and distributes FLSA Reports to all Departments.
  • Reviews all TIMEG documents entered for payroll to ensure they are final.
  • Assists in training new users on the Advantage 4 HRM payroll system.
  • Provides support to departments with time entry and personnel actions as needed.
  • Assists with processing Employee Status Maintenance (ESMT) documents in the Advantage 4 HRM payroll system.
  • Enters employee change requests for direct deposit, federal and state tax withholdings, and miscellaneous deductions.
  • Responds to employment verifications and Open Records requests.
  • Maintains employee personnel files within the electronic filing system.
  • Manages physical files in the file room.
  • Performs general clerical functions including copying, faxing, filing, shredding, and preparing correspondence.
  • Provides front desk assistance including answering a multi-line telephone and directing calls as necessary.
  • Provides notary public service as needed.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
