The Human Resources Technician position at New Castle County involves performing a variety of administrative and professional tasks across all areas of human resources administration. The technician will supervise clerical and support staff and will report to a higher-level administrator. In this role, the technician will conduct research, surveys, and statistical analyses related to various HR functions, prepare reports, and make recommendations based on their findings. They will draft and revise policies, procedures, and examination materials, and will be involved in recruitment activities, including screening applicants and conducting interviews. The technician will also handle classification reviews, performance evaluations, and will assist in negotiations by providing statistical and technical information. Additionally, they will coordinate training sessions and monitor the effectiveness of HR policies and programs, ensuring compliance with regulations and best practices.
