The Human Resources Training and Development Specialist at Illinois Action for Children (IAFC) plays a crucial role in enhancing employee performance through the design, development, and evaluation of training programs across the organization. Reporting to the Assistant Director of Training and Development, this position requires a proactive approach to conducting needs analyses to identify training requirements and improve organizational productivity. The specialist will collaborate with management to understand specific work situations that necessitate employee training, particularly in adapting to changes in policies, procedures, regulations, and technologies. In addition to conducting training sessions for new and current employees on various topics such as orientation, customer service, and policy updates, the specialist will also be responsible for developing training materials and maintaining the Learning Management System (LMS). This includes data entry of courses, performance management documents, and generating reports to track training effectiveness. The role demands excellent communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team in a multi-tasking environment. The Training and Development Specialist will also assist employees in their career development by providing guidance on advancement opportunities and directing them to external educational resources.
