About the position

The Training Specialist in the Human Resources Division of the Veterans Canteen Service (VCS) is responsible for leading the development and implementation of the organization's Awards and Recognition Program. This role focuses on designing training programs that promote employee recognition and engagement, ensuring alignment with company objectives, and measuring the effectiveness of these programs.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement training programs related to employee recognition and rewards.
• Lead training sessions, workshops, and presentations for employees and leadership teams.
• Develop comprehensive training materials and resources, including manuals and e-learning modules.
• Partner with leadership to align the awards and recognition program with company objectives.
• Measure the effectiveness of recognition programs through feedback and performance metrics.
• Manage departmental budgets, including forecasting and cost control.
• Ensure recognition programs adhere to organizational policies and legal requirements.
• Stay updated on industry trends and innovative approaches to employee recognition.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year teaching or instructing in an adult education program or equivalent experience in training or organizational development roles.
• Thorough understanding of employee engagement strategies and organizational behavior.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Expertise in instructional design and e-learning development tools.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel for budgeting and forecasting.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
