About the position

The Human Resources Workforce Support Specialist at Vestcom plays a crucial role in providing day-to-day HR support to employees and leaders across various sites in the US. This position is designed to enhance employee relations and manager capabilities, ensuring that HR policies, procedures, and programs are effectively implemented and adhered to. The specialist will serve as the primary point of contact for employee relations inquiries, addressing concerns and facilitating resolutions in a timely and friendly manner. This role requires a proactive approach to employee engagement, utilizing observations and data to recommend strategies that bolster morale and foster a positive work environment. In collaboration with other workforce support tiers, the specialist will ensure that employee inquiries and issues are resolved comprehensively. Responsibilities include supporting traditional HR activities such as promotions, investigations, corrective actions, performance improvement plans (PIPs), and restructuring activities. The specialist will also act as a liaison with HR leadership to review and improve policies, identify training opportunities, and assist leaders in navigating core HR processes like performance management and development. Additionally, the specialist will be expected to master digital tools, particularly ServiceNow, to support and resolve regional employee relations issues. The role involves continuous exploration of technology to enhance HR and employee experiences, as well as participation in key projects aimed at developing or enhancing HR processes and capabilities. This position reports to the US Workforce Support Manager and may require occasional travel to various manufacturing sites across the US, including locations in New Century, Los Angeles, Phoenix, and Seattle.

Responsibilities

  • Provide positive employee relations and manager capability support across various sites.
  • Recommend employee relations strategies and initiatives to enhance morale and engagement based on observations and data.
  • Collaborate with other workforce support tiers to resolve employee inquiries and issues promptly and comprehensively.
  • Support employees and managers with HR activities such as promotions, investigations, corrective actions, and restructuring activities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for HR-related inquiries, complaints, and customer service.
  • Liaise with HR workforce support leadership regarding policy reviews and improvements.
  • Assist leaders in finding and utilizing resources for core HR processes such as performance management and development.
  • Coach employees and leaders on navigating and resolving key leadership processes and managing conflicts.
  • Build and maintain relationships with assigned sites and groups.
  • Master the digital toolset, particularly ServiceNow, to support and resolve employee relations issues.
  • Seek opportunities to leverage technology to improve HR and employee experiences.
  • Support key projects focused on new process or capability development or enhancement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field required.
  • 1 to 4 years of related experience required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of human resources and labor relations principles, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and cases simultaneously, knowing when to seek support or escalate issues.
  • Proficiency in using digital case management and workflow management tools.
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive relationships with employees, functional leaders, and stakeholders.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to compile and analyze information.
  • Ability to compose and present comprehensive reports.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with ServiceNow or similar digital tools for HR case management.
