About the position

The Human Services Coordinator II (HSC II) position at the Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is a supervisory role responsible for overseeing and supporting Human Service Coordinator I's and other staff within the South Valley Area Office. The HSC II plays a critical role in fostering partnerships with individuals, families, and various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with policies, and monitoring Individual Service Plans. This position is integral to the management team, focusing on planning, resource allocation, and performance evaluation of staff.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct supervision and support to assigned Human Service Coordinator I's and other staff.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate work for assigned staff, incorporating administrative, supportive, and educational components.
  • Monitor Individual Service Plans and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain case documentation consistent with standards and identify individual cases involving health, safety, and changing needs.
  • Engage in problem-solving and ensure critical cases are brought to the attention of the Area Director or designee(s).
  • Provide consistent performance planning, feedback, and evaluations to assigned staff.
  • Supervise specific caseloads including Autism Only, Self-directed services, Transitional, and individuals with Intellectual disabilities.

Requirements

  • At least four (4) years of full-time or equivalent part-time case management or clinical/therapeutic experience.
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in social work, psychology, sociology, counseling, or a related field is required for Qualified Intellectual Disabled Professionals.
  • A current and valid motor vehicle driver's license may be required based on assignment.

  • Experience in community services and resource allocation.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to developmental services.
