As a Human Services Talent Acquisition Specialist, you will bring a deep commitment to advocating for individuals with disabilities and their families. Your experience in recruiting for key roles like Case Managers, QIDP, and Direct Support Professionals (DSP) will be invaluable. You will need high emotional intelligence and a strong desire to make an impact for the persons served. Your ability to gauge candidates' emotional responses and suitability for high-pressure, emotionally demanding environments will be crucial. You will also be responsible for recruiting candidates who understand and respect diverse cultural backgrounds, especially in services focused on community welfare. In this role, you will face recruitment challenges such as talent shortages in the human services industry. You will need to devise strategies to attract and retain talent in roles that can be emotionally demanding. Flexibility in adjusting hiring strategies based on the changing needs of human services programs and regulations is essential. Persistence in finding and retaining top talent, even when faced with industry challenges like burnout and turnover, will be key to your success. You will be comfortable working in a sector where priorities can shift quickly based on client or community needs, and you will efficiently handle multiple roles simultaneously while maintaining high standards for candidate experience. Your meticulous nature will ensure that candidates meet the qualifications and certifications required for human services roles, and you will conduct thorough interviews and background checks for roles that require high levels of trust and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment process for positions across human services, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding candidates.
  • Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract diverse talent through job boards, professional networks, career fairs, and community partnerships.
  • Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates for future openings.
  • Partner with hiring managers to assess staffing needs, develop job descriptions, and create recruitment plans.
  • Evaluate candidates for technical skills and alignment with the organization's mission and values.
  • Champion inclusive hiring practices, ensuring a commitment to recruiting diverse candidates.
  • Deliver a seamless and engaging experience for all candidates, managing communication throughout the process.
  • Utilize recruitment metrics to measure success, track hiring progress, and identify areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in human services recruiting.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state assistance programs for MH/DD populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel, with the ability to learn new technologies.
  • Bachelor's degree in human services, business, psychology, criminal justice, social work, special education, or public health.
