About the position

The Human Systems Integration Engineer III is responsible for integrating human considerations into the engineering and development of NAVWAR systems. This role involves conducting assessments across various domains to ensure effective implementation of human factors in NAVWAR projects, providing recommendations on policies, and supporting the development of Naval Operational Architectures.

Responsibilities

  • Provide recommendations on policies and products to address enterprise-wide process and procedural challenges, issues, and conflicts.
  • Assess and advise on the development, review, and publication of Naval Operational Architectures (NOA), standards, competency development models, policies, and processes.
  • Participate in the design, development, testing, implementation, and documentation of network/web-based collaboration tools/platforms for NAVWAR engineering and business operations efforts in RDT&E.
  • Provide functional knowledge and technical support for developing enterprise architectures to support Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) efforts.

Requirements

  • U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitivity of customer-related requirements.
  • ABET-accredited BS in an engineering discipline or BS in physical science, engineering, or mathematics.
  • Minimum of 6 years in Government-related Research and Development (R&D), Test and Evaluation (T&E), and systems acquisition programs.
  • At least 4 years of relevant Human Systems Integration (HSI) experience, including design, installation, integration, and test support.
  • Experience with multi-domain HSI engineering analysis, impact assessments, and tradeoff studies of complex systems.
  • Development of design documentation/specifications and HSI-related engineering requirements, performance, and risk analysis.
  • Experience with HSI test planning, test procedures development, test conduct, analysis, and reporting.
  • Understanding of Naval operations from unit through operational staff and HQ levels.
  • Conducting mission task analysis, top-down functional analysis, and critical task analysis.
  • Familiarity with systems of systems (SoS) interface management controls, processes, and products.
  • Understanding of risks associated with the development and implementation of the NOA Architecture.
  • Experience with the evaluation of cybersecurity technical approaches to support system design and development efforts.
  • Knowledge of certification-related functions involved in the NAVWAR Information Assurance Technical Authority mission and process.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiarity with the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) system documentation.
