About the position

The Human Trafficking Case Manager at Covenant House New Orleans is responsible for supervising and assisting a team in providing comprehensive case management for victims and survivors of human trafficking. This role focuses on developing and coordinating individualized case plans to help clients transition into stable, self-sufficient lifestyles or reunite with their families. The Case Manager will support staff in identifying and assisting victims, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for all clients.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and assist Case Managers, Sr. Resident Advisors, and Resident Advisors in case management.
  • Develop and coordinate individualized case plans for human trafficking victims/survivors.
  • Promote a peaceful, healing environment using trauma-informed care principles.
  • Ensure a welcoming and secure environment for trafficking victims/survivors.
  • Oversee the intake process and assessments for new and current clients.
  • Provide individualized care and support to help clients access community resources.
  • Assist in the reunification of victims/survivors with their families.
  • Encourage active participation in classes and workshops for residents.
  • Participate in weekly case reviews and communicate with team members.
  • Maintain accurate case files and documentation for clients.
  • Attend trainings and commit to continuous professional development.
  • Assist in outreach efforts to identify potential trafficking victims.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and the Greater New Orleans Human Trafficking Taskforce.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in social service or related field.
  • Fluent in Spanish or Vietnamese is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in anti-human trafficking efforts.
  • Experience working with youth who have experienced trauma or homelessness.
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with youth and staff.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves

  • Fluency in Spanish or Vietnamese.
