About the position
As a Perishable Representative at H-E-B, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that the perishables department is well-stocked and maintained while delivering exceptional customer service. This part-time position requires energetic and motivated individuals who are committed to making customers feel welcome and satisfied. You will be responsible for preparing, packaging, and merchandising fresh products daily, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards, and contributing to the overall success of the department.
Responsibilities
- Provide superior customer service and assist customers with product selections.
- Prepare, package, and merchandise fresh products daily.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of display cases and equipment.
- Comply with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Effectively merchandise products and utilize suggestive selling techniques to boost sales.
- Assist in various department-specific tasks such as cutting, trimming, and preparing food items.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Basic computer systems knowledge (Telxon, ACR, label machine).
- Planning and organizing skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience in food service or retail environments.
- Knowledge of various fish and shellfish for seafood department.
