About the position

The HVAC Chiller Technician role at Service Experts LLC involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial HVAC equipment, particularly chillers and their supporting components. The position emphasizes leadership skills for training and mentoring other technicians, ensuring the proper use and maintenance of company property, and adhering to health and safety protocols. This role is crucial for maintaining high standards of service and professionalism within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial HVAC equipment such as chillers, pumps, cooling towers, split systems, package units, and boilers.
  • Training and mentoring other technicians.
  • Performing service on VFDs and various motor starters, pumps, and motors.
  • Troubleshooting hydronic systems, including boiler systems, low pressure hydronic, and steam.
  • Maintaining knowledge of York, Trane, and Carrier microprocessors.
  • Ensuring company property, vehicles, and tools are used, maintained, and properly accounted for.
  • Representing the company professionally, honestly, and ethically in all business matters and activities.
  • Following standard procedures and processes, ensuring the company vehicle is properly stocked, and managing defective warranty parts.
  • Performing similar or other duties as needed or assigned.
  • Maintaining regular, reliable attendance.
  • Reporting unsafe acts, conditions, and hazards to the supervisor/manager immediately.
  • Using and maintaining appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as prescribed by company programs or procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED with additional training.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in HVAC with technical training certification.
  • Working knowledge of air- and water-cooled HVAC equipment.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with VFDs and various motor starters.
  • Knowledge of hydronic systems and boiler systems.
